October 2026 Course: “How People Think: The Psychology of Thinking, How it Develops, Exceptional Thought, AI, and the Getting of Wisdom”
The speaker’s interest in AI has led him to wonder about the differences between
human and artificial intelligence and if there might be something about human
thinking (wisdom?) that computers may never achieve. We will explore these topics
together.
Over the 6 weeks we will discuss the following:
1. The Data-Information-Knowledge-Wisdom pyramid
2. What kinds of thinking are there?
3. How does it work?
4. Exceptional thought
5. Artificial versus human intelligence
6. Wisdom (and how we get it)
